Several $50,000 Powerball Winners in Massachusetts, Jackpot Surges to $1.73 Billion

There was no Powerball jackpot winner Monday night so the pot is now going to be $1.73 BILLION for Wednesday night’s drawing. But all hope is not lost if you bought a ticket in Massachusetts. There were thousands of winners here. The winners were not of the big prize BUT there were 5 $50,000 winners.  Those winners matched 4 numbers plus the Powerball number.  Those tickets were sold at Newburyport - Black Duck Market & Deli, Berkley - Berkley Farms Liquors, Raynham - Save More Gas & Conv, Charlestown - 7-Eleven 37362 and Marshfield - North River Beverage.  The winning numbers were: 16, 34, 46, 55, 67 and red Powerball 14. Wednesday’s jackpot will be the SECOND largest in lottery history.

So what is the next drawing looking like? According to a press release from Powerball: It’s the SECOND largest in the American lottery game’s history.  There has been no grand prize winner since July 19, when a single ticket sold in California won a jackpot worth $1.08 billion.  That amount of money is nothing to sneeze at. If someone wins Monday’s jackpot, they’ll have a cash pay out of $756.6 million.  The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.  Most people choose the lump sum payout to ensure they get all of their money while they’re still here.
