Keith Richards Explains Why He Doesn’t Like Pop or Rap Music
Keith Richards is not one to hold back on how he really feels about something. It’s one of the reasons why he’s so beloved. With that in mind, his thoughts on pop and rap music might raise eyebrows, but they’re not exactly shocking.
Richards talked about his disdain for both genres in a new interview with The Telegraph. When it comes to pop music, the guitarist says the genre has always been “rubbish.” His biggest issue with pop music is how it lacks “very little feel.”
As for rap music, Richards said, “I don’t really like to hear people yelling at me and telling me it’s music, AKA rap. I can get enough of that without leaving my house.”
With Richards’ comments in mind, perhaps Rolling Stones fans won’t have to deal with any “rubbish” or “yelling” next month. On October 20, the legendary band drops their new studio album, Hackney Diamonds. The album is the band’s first new studio album of all new material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang. A full track list for the album is below, and it’s available for pre-order in a variety of formats at RollingStones.com.
