It's Who Are You at 45. The Who's iconic album celebrates a big milestone this year, so who better to reflect on it than Hardy?

If you've been living under a rock for the last two years (and with the whole "deadly global pandemic thing," I wouldn't blame you if you were), you might not know that Hardy is on ROCK 92.9. Yes, he's still holding down the midday show with Beetle and Zo on the Sports Hub. But after he wraps up there, you can hear him here, weekdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Boston's ROCK 92.9.

Hardy and I have known each other for almost twenty years now. I took over middays at Boston's late, great WBCN in February of 2003. Hardy came to town to take over afternoon drive in January of 2005. We became fast friends with our shared love of rock, comedy, and Albuquerque, NM. Fun fact: we both worked at Albuquerque's alternative station, The Edge, two years apart from each other.

When I checked my handy calendar of big rock release anniversaries and rock star birthdays and death days, I noticed that Who Are You turns 45 today. Could I write about it? Of course. I love The Who and, as you'll hear below, this album is either my No. 1 or No. 1A in the band's storied catalog. But Hardy loves The Who even more than I do, so I thought it would make more sense to get his take.

Hardy was kind enough to pop into the ROCK studio before starting his daily broadcast on the Hub. I asked him about his relationship with the album, where he ranks it in the band's discography, and more. We ended up having a nice little chat, which you can listen to below. And then you can check out the performance of the title track he references in our conversation. It's an all-timer.
