Tom DeLonge is definitely getting the last laugh following yesterday's (July 26) House Oversight Committee hearing.

Per NBC News, the hearing featured testimony from former intelligence official David Grusch. He said the Pentagon has been covering up a decades-long program that retrieved UFOs. (Note: UFOs are now being referred to as "unidentified aerial phenomena," of UAPs.) Grusch said during his testimony that the government has recovered UAPs that were piloted by "non-human biologics." However, he did not cite specific details claiming they were classified.

DeLonge, of course, has been researching UAPs and alien lifeforms for years and was even name-dropped during the hearing. Following the hearing, DeLonge took to social media and shared a meme that states, "Tom was right. Aliens f**king exist."

(It should be noted that following the hearing, Pentagon spokesperson Sue Gough said of Grusch's testimony, "[The Defense Department] has not discovered any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.")

DeLonge and his interest in various paranormal activities started to receive significant attention in 2016. That year, it was revealed in a Wikileaks release of documents related to Hillary Clinton that DeLonge had tried to contact Clinton's campaign manager John Podesta. DeLonge reached out to Podesta, who also has an interest in UAPs, to have a conversation about them. The Wikileaks release also featured correspondence from DeLonge to Air Force General William Neil McCasland about similar matters.

As a result of the Wikileaks release, DeLonge was named "UFO Researcher of the Year" for 2017 by Open Mind Production, a group that touts itself as a credible source on UFO/UAP news and information. A tribute to DeLonge's work can be viewed in the video below. The clip also contains a video speech from DeLonge accepting the award.
