The Six Flags summer lineup has been announced. See what's doing so you can plan your visit to Six Flags New England.

As of today--June 7--Six Flags New England is up and running for its daily summer operations, expanding hours post-Memorial Day. Located in Springfield, MA, Six Flags boasts a bevy of family-friendly activities. There are rides galore, including kids rides, family rides, thrill rides, and water park rides. And there plenty of entertainment experiences, dining, and shops to keep you occupied.

So what's new for 2023? First of all, Six Flags is celebrating diversity and inclusion with the region’s largest Pride event for select dates throughout Pride Month in June. There will be plenty of music, dancing, colorful treats, festive displays, photo opportunities, and weekend entertainment. All of this is in support of LGBTQIA+ organizations, their friends, and LBGTQIA+ allies.

Of course, the 4th of July is one of the highlights of summer. Six Flags is kicking off their Independence Day celebration on July 1st and carrying it through the 4th. The entire theme park will be decked out in red, white and blue. The soundtrack will be decidedly patriotic. American-themed treats will be available park-wide. And there will be a giant fireworks display each and every night.

For the rest of the summer--from July 7 through the end of August--Six Flags is debuting their Summer Celebration for 2023. Billed as "the regions largest nighttime summer celebration," guests will be treated to a variety of entertainment options. Weekend entertainment, dance parties, character meet-and-greets, and fireworks displays on select nights will all be part of the summer mix.

The Best City For Long-Distance Dating Is In Massachusetts

Yes, the Commonwealth boasts the best city for long-distance dating. And it's probably not the city you'd expect.

We truly have entered the era of the long-distance relationship. Not that falling in love with someone from far away is a new concept or anything. It's just that with the advent of the internet and the spread of social media it's a lot easier to carry on in a healthy, satisfying relationship with someone you can't be with physically. Stop and think about it for a moment: I bet you have at least one Facebook friend whose partner is from another part of the country or another part of the world. I know I do.

The Shane Co. recently shared a little something they titled The Best U.S. Cities to Date Long-Distance. Like I mentioned above, they've seen the trend of online romance blossoming into full-blown long distance love. And that blossom has become an outright bloom, thanks to the pandemic years and the shifts in habits as we continue to emerge from that time.

As they see it, it's easier in some cities than it is in others to keep a relationship interesting over space and time. So what makes a good city good, as opposed to not good? "To figure it out, we looked at internet speeds, restaurants available on DoorDash, the cost of a bottle of wine, and more." Cleary, affordability plays a big part in their rankings.
