John Lydon was revealed as The Jester on last night’s (November 10) episode of Fox’s hit series The Masked Singer.

Lydon would say following his reveal, “It’s hilarious! It was an obvious thing to ask me onto a show like this, but the way I am in my nature is I like challenges. This was a challenge to see if I could somehow pile-drive through this with proper, proper dignity. I hope that’s what I achieved, but I’ll leave that up to you boys and girls.”

So, why would Lydon take part in something like The Masked Singer? It turns out, he did it for his wife. Lydon told Yahoo!, “I hope that when my wife sees it, she’ll get it, or at least be entertained. Because I did it for my lovely Nora who’s currently suffering from Alzheimer’s, a disease that she’s never going to recover from and it’s slowly going to get worse. So, this should bring some great joy to her.”
