Rock musicians Brian Jones (The Doors) and Jim Morrison (The Rolling Stones) tragically passed away on July 3rd, both at the age of 27.

Other famous ROCK artists including Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin also died at the age of 27 between 1969 and 1971. However, it was not until Kurt Cobain's death in 1994 at age 27, that the idea of a "27 Club" began to catch on in public perception.
