This Southwick Woman Threw Away a $1M Lottery Ticket Then Got it Back
Lea Rose Fiega went from a nightmare scenario to a dream scenario, all due to the integrity of a Southwick convenience store owner.
Back in March, Fiega purchased a $30 scratch ticket during her lunch break at Lucky Stop convenience in Southwick, MA. Thinking it was a loser, she handed it over to the clerk to throw away. It sat behind the counter for 10 days before Abhi Shah, the son of Lucky Stop’s owners, found the ticket and noticed the number hadn’t been scratched. He scratched it and found it was a million-dollar winner.
Shah, knowing Fiega as a regular customer, went to find her at work to let her know his parents wanted to see her. She left work and went back to Lucky Stop, where the Shahs informed her she was a millionaire. Boston.com has the rest of the story here.
So put yourself in the Shah’s shoes: would you have made the same call and reunited the ticket with it’s owner? Or would you have kept the money for yourself?
