The Grammys glossed over Eddie Van Halen in their "In Memoriam" tribute, but fear not: the kids know his name and his legacy lives on.

Cedar Rapids sportswriter Jeff Johnson shared a clip last week of the Montezuma Pep Band throwing down a peppy version of Van Halen's 1978 masterwork "Eruption," which of course included the mandatory tag-on of "You Really Got Me." Watching this kid channel EVH gives me hope. May it give you hope as well.
