Bill Wyman, the former bassist for the Rolling Stones, was the subject of a memorabilia auction that took place over the weekend at Julien’s Auctions in Beverley Hills, Calif. A number of items up for bid broke records, including one very strange record.

Per Julien’s, “An unexpected world record may have also been set in the sale of an acrylic plush yellow toilet seat cover printed with the Rolling Stones’ iconic tongue logo design which sold for $1,152, making it the most expensive toilet seat lid cover ever sold at auction.”

Besides the toilet seat cover, there were also two other notable records set at the auction. Wyman’s 1969 Fender Mustang Bass with a Competition Orange finish designed by Leo Fender before he left the company sold for $384,000 which is now the new world record or most expensive bass guitar sold at auction. The previous record-holder came from a Paul McCartney left-handed Hofner bass, which was sold by Julien’s Auctions in 2013 for $204,800.

The other record came via Wyman‘s 1962 VOX AC30 Normal model amplifier, which set a new world record for most expensive amplifier sold at auction being sold for $106,250. The previous record was held by a pair of amps previously owned by David Gilmour which sold at auction for $77,000 in 2019.
