We all know that one person who posts outdated articles as if they are new.

Facebook has created a way to prevent them from posting out dated stories.

If a story is 90 days old or older a pop up window will open telling you the article is over 90 days old and would you like to go back or continue.

Facebook said that the sharing of old stories outside of their original context contributes to the spreading of misinformation.

“Over the past several months, our internal research found that the timeliness of an article is an important piece of context that helps people decide what to read, trust and share,” Facebook Vice President of Feed and Stories John Hegeman said on Facebook’s blog.
