“We have always said that we fly the flag of British heavy metal. It’s something that we’re extremely proud of. We take it seriously.”
That’s Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford from a recent feature in Rolling Stone. In the interview, Metal God laments not being able to fly that flag in 2020 for their 50th anniversary; tour plans have been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Halford also speaks on how he’s social distancing, what he’s been reading and listening to, and what it was like to come out as gay in the late 90s.
Halford is an undisputed heavy metal legend, and his candor really comes through in this piece. It’s worth the read, and you can dive into it right here.
