New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft is using the team plane to bring 1.2 million much-needed N95 masks to Massachusetts to help in the fight against corona virus.  These masks will go directly to Massachusetts health care workers  struggling with an equipment shortage.

According to Andrew Beaton of the Wall Street Journal, Kraft helped Governor Charlie Baker work out the intricate logistics of getting the masks from China to Massachusetts.

“I’ve never seen so much red tape in so many ways and obstacles that we had to overcome,” said Robert Kraft, the Patriots’ owner. “In today’s world, those of us who are fortunate to make a difference have a significant responsibility to do so with all the assets we have available to us.”

The plane left China at 3:38am  Wednesday.  Kraft and Baker will be at Logan to greet the plane when it lands Thursday afternoon.
