Organizers of San Diego's Comic-Con are still hopeful that it will take place in July.

This despite the fact every major event around this time has been canceled or postponed.

"To our amazing Comic-Con and WonderCon fans: We understand how difficult the current climate has been for all of us and appreciate your continued support through these trying times," organizers said in a statement posted to the Comic-Con International Facebook page. "No one is as hopeful as we are that we will be able to celebrate #SDCC2020 together come July."

The dates for Comic-Con San Diego are July 23-July 26.

Organizers said they are taking a wait and see approach.

In the statement they said they are, monitoring the situation with local authorities.
