A 76-year-old woman fell out of the window of her apartment on the seventh floor in New York City last week, but she survived . . . because she landed on a bunch of boxes of fruits and vegetables.

Boxes filled with carrots, onions, pears and limes cushioned the woman’s fall. She suffered injuries like a broken pelvis, broken rib, and a pierced lung. She was rushed to a hospital.
