Pearl Jam has added to the latest speculation that a new album is on the way thanks to billboards that have shown up in 11 cities around the world.

The landing page on the band's official website features a world map along with eleven markers that when clicked give the exact coordinates of a special billboard. When you visit the billboard and view them through specially designed Facebook and Instagram filters, the previously shared Pearl Jam heart rate logo appears along the word "Gigaton." That logo is then accompanied with an image showing a melting ice cap. The lens also plays a short piece of music.

These new billboards follow the sharing of two different images last week via Pearl Jam's social media channels. One is of a stylized heart rate with the band's name in the middle, while the other image shows three different symbols that appear to be flames. The reply threads to each tweet are flooded with fan responses believing a new album could be on the way.

Pearl Jam released their last studio album, Lightning Bolt, in October 2013. Their last piece of new music was "Can't Deny Me," a stand-alone single released in March 2018.
