Today (December 26) is Lars Ulrich’s birthday, and since we’re approaching the announcement of the 2020 induction class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it seemed appropriate to look back at 2009 when Metallica was inducted.

Lars’ speech was short, straight to the point and incredibly poignant, especially at the end when he thanked his father, Torben, for giving him a great, fulfilling childhood.  Who can’t help but tear up along with him?
