Next year will mark the 25th anniversary of the Foo Fighters. Should fans brace themselves for some sort grand celebration? While not showing his hand, Taylor Hawkins says a few things in a new interview that might lead fans to think Dave Grohl and Co. might have something up their sleeves.

Speaking with Kerrang (as transcribed by Music-News.com), Hawkins says, “Well, it’s very possible. There’s a lot of talk. And I think Dave is already mapping out what he wants the next record to be, so i wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something coming down the pipe.:

Hawkins continues, “I can’t 100 percent spell it out for you for sure, because I’m always the last to know and I don’t want to give it away. But I would imagine there will be something made of the 25th year of the Foo Fighters, for sure. You know us, we never stop.”

Of course, when they do “stop,” it’s mostly to take a break after a long touring cycle so they can write more music for a new album and hit the road all over again. Knowing the band’s penchant for surprise, especially with their latest habit of spontaneously dropping EPs of live tracks and demos/b-sides, 2020 will definitely be a year to closely monitor the Foos.

Hawkins, in the meantime, is releasing a new album with his side band, Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riderson November 8 called Get The Money. The album is available for pre-order here, while exclusive merch bundles are available at Shop.TaylorHawkins.com. The title track can be heard below.
