Eddie Money Cause of Death Confirmed

Eddie Money's death on Friday (September 13) took the music world by surprise after only recently announcing his esophageal cancer diagnosis, but sadly, it wasn't cancer that ended his life.

A representative from Money's camp confirmed to People that the cause of death was from complications from his recent heart valve replacement surgery.

This summer, Money underwent minor heart valve surgery and postponed his remaining 2019 tour dates, however, his heart surgery was unrelated to his cancer diagnosis. He contracted pneumonia shortly after heart valve surgery.

However, when Money contracted pneumonia, this put a hold on his cancer treatment for about three months. According to TMZ, during that time, his cancer did not worsen. For those three months, Money was hospitalized.
