A 63-year-old guy in Minnesota is facing charges after he dumped thousands of screws on the road near his ex-girlfriend’s house, to prevent her from driving to see her new boyfriend.

Over the month of August, police discovered the man had purchased about 12,668 sheetrock screws in total. Around 150 people ended up with flat tires causing a total of $1,592.33 in damages to vehicles.

Charges: Man threw screws onto roads to thwart ex-girlfriend's new relationship

A 63-year-old Elk River man was charged Wednesday after admitting to throwing screws onto roadways in Sherburne County, Minn. According to the charges filed in Sherburne County District Court, Jeffrey Caouette faces one felony count of damage to property over $1,000.
