“Big Papi will be back soon!”
That’s the money quote from a statement David Ortiz released today.
The former Sox player thanked his doctors and MGH staff “some of the best teammates I’ve ever had,” Sox owner John Henry, and his fans in Boston and the Dominican.
Ortiz plan to spend the next few weeks at home recovering. He says he’s “feeling good, but I know I need to do my rehab just like I did when I was recovering from injuries playing baseball.”
Big Papi posted on Instagram to thank his fans for all the prayers and saying “Being home and look at my family is priceless…” and “Too bad I can’t crush solid food yet.”

Estando ya en casa y viendo a mi familia celebrarlo no tiene precio gracias por todas sus oraciones ????????... lo único malo es que no puedo matar la liga comiendo todavía ????!!!
So yes, he’s home. But he’s got a long way to go from those serious injuries. But you heard it from the man himself…fear not, “Big Papi will be back soon.”
