The Rolling Stones’ U.S. tour was delayed because of Mick Jagger’s heart surgery, but last night they kicked things off with a strong set at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Their opening night setlist was packed with most of the expected hits: “Street Fighting Man,” “Let’s Spend The Night Together,” “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” “Sympathy For The Devil,” “Honky Tonk Woman,” “Miss You,” “Paint It Black,” “Start Me Up,” “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” “Brown Sugar,” “Gimme Shelter” and “(I Can’t Get N0) Satisfaction.” There were few surprises, other than “Sad Sad Sad” from 1989’s Steel Wheels, and the song voted on by fans, “You Got Me Rocking” from 1994’s Voodoo Lounge (at 25 years old, it’s the youngest song to make the setlist).
