Carrie Underwood brought Joan Jett to Nashville and CMA Fest to perform with her at last night (6/7) at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. Jett wasn't sure the crowd would be open to her music; Underwood and the crowd proved her wrong.

Jett surprised the crowd by join Carrie in stage to sing a medley of her hits "I Love Rock 'n' Roll," "Bad Reputation" and "I Hate Myself for Loving You."

Before she took the stage, Carrie told us about Joan's reaction when she reached out to her to join country music's biggest week, "One of the greatest things that I found in our conversations  over the last couple days has been like, you can tell that she really wants to do a great job in this crowd."

She continued, "I could tell it's not nervousness, she just wanted to do well. She was like, 'This isn't my world... I hope that they know the songs' and I'm like, 'Are you kidding me? Of course they know the songs! I know it's not your audience but it is because they are like me and they are gonna know every word to every song.'"

Underwood added, "I think it's gonna be so much fun to show off our people to her and show off our crowd and how amazing they're gonna be to her." And Carrie was right: the crowd loved the entire three-song performance.
