Jon Bon Jovi is no stranger to accolades, but the one he received yesterday (May 20) from the University of Pennsylvania is rather special.

Penn awarded Bon Jovi with an honorary Doctor of Music degree during its 263rd commencement. Of the honor, Bon Jovi shared via his Instagram, “It’s better to be a doctor than be in need of a doctor.
Thanks @uofpenn and congratulations to all the graduates.”
